Portege Z835 has a magnesium chassis of the dark gray light but sturdy. In the magnesium chassis, Toshiba has also been reinforced by the structure of the honeycomb-patterned plastic. So that the Z835 is much more stable than the Acer Aspire S3.
This Toshiba notebook is very solid, given the size 0.6 x 12, 4 x 8.9 inches and weighing only 2.4 pounds. It's much lighter than the MacBook Air (2.9), Acer Aspire S3 (2.94) and much lighter than the ASUS UX31 Zenbook (2.86).
Toshiba Portege Z835 has a 13.3 inch widescreen display with 1366 x 768 pixels. Resolution equal to that offered by Acer S3 but lower than the ASUS UX31 (1600 x 900).
Features
Form a thin ultrabook often identified with minimal features, but not so with the Portege Z835-P330. Instead ultrabook Toshiba comes with a fairly complete selection of ports other than ultrabook. On the edge of the hinge there is a HDMI port and two USB 2.0 ports, one of which is equipped with Toshiba Sleep'n'Charge technology.
In addition to a pair of ports on the back, there's also a USB 3.0 port on the right side, accompanied by a case-lock slot and SD card. On the left side there is a jack for headphones and microphone. Above the screen there is a 1.3 megapixel webcam.
A Gigabit Ethernet port on the back are rarely found in a ultrabook, because most only rely on Wi-Fi 802.11n. Unexpectedly, Portge Z835 is equipped with Widi 2.0, an Intel wireless streaming solution that allows you to stream HD content to an HDTV via a Netgear Push2TV adapto.
Z835 also has a storage Solid State Drive (SSD) of 128 GB, which is large enough to store the operating system and a number of programs and media choice is simple.
Performance
Toshiba Portege Z835 is equipped with a dual-core low-voltage Intel Core i3-2367M paired with 4GB of RAM. In the PCMark benchmark test, Z835 scored 2496 points which put him on top of Acer S3 (1899) but below the ASUS UX31 (3531) and MacBook Air (3186).
