Design and Body

As one can see, this phone uses a hybrid design between the touch screen with QWERTY keyboard. This phone has dimensions of 116.5 x 58 x 13.5 mm and weighs 110 grams. Motorola Fire feels comfortable when held because it is made curved corners. Fire the whole body using a Motorola phone glossy plastic material. Indeed, with a glossy texture of the body can make this phone look fancy, but the downside is the phone body will easily scratched and spotted fingers.

In the face of the top there is an earpiece, then there is a touch screen that is displayed in portrait position so that it takes more than half the area face of the phone, there are four function buttons underneath Android capacitive type (menu, home, back, search), then there is a physical QWERTY keyboard .

At the back there is a mirror or a camera without a flash and a speaker at the bottom. Left side of the phone there are volume keys and camera button, the button has the form of a thin but still can be suppressed well. On the right side of the phone there is only a microUSB port. At the top of the phone is a 3.5 mm headset port and a power button / lock.

Interface

Fire uses the Motorola Moto Switch interface. The purpose of the switch motto is you can change the look of a good homescreen wallpaper, widgets, or the position of icons on the homescreen like to change the profile. So you can set the display preferences in accordance with existing categories.

On the homescreen can load only five pages, which can be filled with various items such as shortcuts, widgets, folders, or change the wallpaper. By holding down the menu will be displayed right under the display overview of the pages of the homescreen, but because of the low resolution of the display screen of this overview is not so clearly visible. Tampillan notification window is also plain, without the presence of connectivity options. If you hold the home button it will show recent apps that were never opened before.

The main menu appears simple, the icons are lined up down the name of the company placed on a black background. You can not change the position of the existing icons.

Input Text

For the problem of text input already provided a physical QWERTY keyboard. Texture is much like a physical keyboard QWERTY keyboard on the BlackBerry Onyx, but the size of each key is greater. For typing, the keyboard is quite tender but not soft as the BlackBerry Onyx. But unlike the QWERTY keyboard in general, for numeric input (digits) Motorola put it in the first row (QWERTY. ..) in quick succession, much like a computer keyboard layout. In the settings menu there is a choice and Moto Muti-touch keyboard input, but we did not find a way to be able to use this screen keyboard.

Contacts

Contains four tabs ie tabs phone, call logs, contacts, and favorites, contacts menu is actually having the same content with the phone menu. The difference only highlight the current tab to enter the menu. To enter you can enter contacts manually or import from various accounts such as Gmail accounts or from sim card. You can also export your contacts list into the memory card to back up.

Messaging

Messaging menu look just like the default Android, when you get into this menu will display the new message at the top and lined underneath the chat thread. As usual to make the MMS message you just need to attach multimedia content in the SMS editor.

For the default email application, Gmail there who has the typical appearance of simple and easy to use. Gmail application also supports multiple accounts, so if you have many Gmail accounts then all your account is active and will get push notifications when connected to the Internet. For those of you who use other email services, you can set it manually in the email menu.

Talk or Google Talk is the only instant messaging application on Android. If you want to use another service, it's easy you just downloaded from Google's Play.

Camera

Motorola Fire has a resolution of 3.15 MP camera (2048x1536 pixels) fixed focus without flash. Camera menu interface looks very simple but there are plenty of setting options such as zoom, white balance, store location, picture size, picture quality, color effect, metering mode, anti appeal, saturation, contrast, sharpness, brightness, shutter sound, and restore to default .

The camera to capture images in the room looks like a hazy and not sharp, for the resulting color is quite bright. As for the outdoor shots look pretty good results for certain conditions but are less able to adjust the camera so it looks different results obtained. Examples of outdoor pictures we took below, the conditions and time of making the same angle of the only differences are the color of the sky changes from bright to be as cloudy.

Video Recorder

Fire Motorola camera is capable of recording video up to VGA resolution (640 x 480 pixels) with 24fps framerate. There are some menu settings such as video quality, white balance, color effects, video encoder, video duration, and restore to default. Unfortunately for the video recording is only confined to a maximum duration of 30 minutes. Videos are saved in 3GP format.

My Gallery

Menu appears as my gallery is the default android with 3D effects and motion effects. A collection of pictures and videos will be displayed here by folder. Image being viewed can be directly used as wallpaper. Can also do minor editing like crop and rotate. You can also instantly share the images to a variety of support services. For zooming process can be done in three ways: pinch and zoom, double tap the screen, or use the zoom button.

Video Player

Video can be played through my gallery menu because there is no video player menu by default. Video player interface looks standard with Android there are only backward buttons, play / pause and fast forward. Video format like MP4 which can be played, but for a resolution of 720p and above can not be played.

Music Players

Motorola Fire using typical applications motorola connected music player. This application has a complete feature because in addition to listening to songs in your library, you also can stream internet radio, see the youtube clip, TuneWiki community and track identification.

Motorola XT311 Review Fire Gallery
For menu music, the songs are divided into four categories, namely artist, album, songs, and playlists. Display now playing album art and lyrics are presented (if connected to the Internet). There are also features like send blip (like comments) that can be shared to Twitter, and music maps, information is now playing well in the notification window. This new music player you can use if you insert a memory card.

FM Radio

To be able to enjoy your favorite radio station, you must first plug the headset that has a function as an antenna. There are features such as favorites, share (to share information which is being listened to radio station), set frequency, listen via speaker, mute, settings, and settings.

Connectivity

Fire is running on the Motorola Quad Band GSM / GPRS / EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and HSDPA 900/2100 MHz. For local connectivity there is WiFi 802.11b/g/n, a-GPS, Bluetooth v2.1. There is also a choice of USB tethering and Mobile WiFi hotspot.

Web Browser

Motorola Browser on Fire can do multitab simultaneously up to 8 tabs. We found no obstacles to open a website TeknoUp mobile version, for the full version can be opened, although not so smoothly and we had experienced a force close when opening another tab. For flash content, such as the desktop version of YouTube, if we play the video it will automatically be played using a web page of the application is not played.

Battery Life

Armed with a Lithium Ion battery type with a capacity of 1420 mAh BP6X, said to be capable of supporting up to 614 minutes talk time or 476 hours on 3G networks. Based on experience during the process of review takes place, the Motorola battery Fire is fairly qualified to accompany you to one and a half to two days with normal usage. But battery life is tentative depending on network conditions and usage.

Conclusion

By carrying out the design of hybrid (touch screen and QWERTY keyboard), Motorola Fire is like to compete with similar-shaped phone that LG's Optimus Pro. If viewed in terms of price is priced around 1.5 million rupiah, the phone is fairly decent to your own class because it has a unique design. But for those of you who are more concerned with performance, this phone is fairly mediocre with nothing special to offer.

Excess

The unique design
Battery life is good

Shortage

Screen quality is not good
The results are not so good camera
